José has recently become the new European Coordinator of Mennonite Conferences / MWC Europa Regional Representative. He is travelling the continent visiting local Anabaptist and Mennonite networks, and it was our pleasure to host him. Here is a brief report from José:
Dear sisters, brothers, partners and friends,
I just arrived from a wonderful weekend in UK, wonderfully hosted by our brother and friend Stuart Murray. We started with a meeting Friday with AMN in London, with Linda Wilson, Alex Ellish and Lynsey Heslegrave. It was a very nice time chatting and learning more about the great role AMN have, Linda chairs AMN trustee board, Alex Ellish leads Urban Expression and oversees the church planting initiative, Lynsey Heselgrave is one of the Incarnate coach/catalysts.
After this we travelled to Wolverhampton to meet Rev. Themba Ndlovu, his wife Cyntha from West Midlands BICC church in Birmingham and Rev. Dean Chauke and his wife Lindy from Derby BICC church, they hosted me and Stuart warmly. Saturday we attended BICC UK Leadership Symposium, that was held in West Midlands BICC church with leaders from the 10 BICC UK churches. It was a great time to see the dynamic of this event, I was warmly received and I had the opportunity to talk about European Mennonite family and also talk about MWC. I’m very sure we will see some of them in our next meeting this year that will be held in UK.
Finally on Sunday I attended West Midlands BICC Sunday service, again a wonderful community and a great time worshiping.
