Urban Expression update

June 22, 2020

Lockdown has presented challenges and opportunities for the 24 Urban Expression teams across the country. As a network of teams embedded in local communities and committed to long-term engagement, some of the teams have been deeply involved in offering support and expressing solidarity with others. But the necessary restrictions have presented difficulties to teams committed to highly relational expressions of ministry. Two of our team leaders have contracted covid-19 and one was quite seriously ill for a while. Like many others, we have been making extensive use of Zoom with fortnightly catch-up conversations and other meetings – appreciating this facility but aware of its limitations. We await further developments and whatever the ‘new normal’ will mean for our teams and their communities.
