CAS Update

April 28, 2020

‘Biblical and Practical Peacemaking’ was the Centre for Anabaptist Studies module scheduled for the end of March. The lockdown arrangements made it impossible for us to teach this in Bristol, but we were able to teach it online via the wonderfully named ‘Big Blue Button’ facility (similar to Zoom but designed specifically for educational purposes). This worked pretty well, although we were all rather screen-weary after several hours of learning together. But one or two students commented that they had actually found it easier to contribute than in a classroom setting.

The final module of this academic year – ‘Advanced Study of a Theological Text’ – will also be taught online towards the end of May. The text in question is Doctrine by James McClendon.
